Gold Prices Today (July 2): Rates Rise Amid Global Trends; Check Prices in Major Indian Cities

Gold and silver continue their upward trajectory, proving to be strong safe-haven assets amidst global market volatility. Experts and investors alike are watching the precious metals closely as they maintain their impressive gains.

Over the past two decades, gold prices have surged by a remarkable 1,200%, climbing from ₹7,638 in 2005 to over ₹1,00,000 per 10 grams by June 2025. This year alone, gold has seen a 31% increase, consistently hitting record highs and solidifying its position as one of 2025's top-performing asset classes. Silver has also demonstrated resilience, holding above the ₹1 lakh/kg mark for the past three weeks and showing a 668.84% gain over the last 20 years.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold index stood at ₹97,322 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, MCX silver prices were recorded at ₹1,05,837 per kilogram.

According to data from the Indian Bullion Association (IBA), 24-carat gold is priced at ₹97,600 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold is at ₹89,467 per 10 grams. Silver (999 Fine) is currently ₹1,06,670 per kilogram.
